I created this puzzle a couple of weeks ago. The original version was made on May 11 but I tweaked a couple of things after that. I almost submitted it to the NYT but printing it out in a specific manner and submitting it via snail mail was not worth the effort. Shortz's loss is your gain. Comments welcome.

    No. MIKE T FLYNN is not how anyone refers to him. The theme had a very limited time span. 6D is not going to work for any major site. Maybe BEQ will adopt it. 32D totally fails the breakfast test as well. 17A is decades too late. You totally baffled me over in the MW. I have no idea who 29D is and, by that point, I did not really care. 30D was never popular enough to be worth resurrecting. 55D was irritating. Clue for 5D is cute.

    Thanks for the feedback. I especially like the "breakfast test" idea, especially if I want to think about getting a puzzle published somewhere else.
